Slate looks different in your house than it does on a website — different light, different room, different next to your kitchen. Tap "+ add sample" on any retailer above and we'll pass your details to all of them at once. Free, posted out within five working days.

How we worked it out

We compare credible UK retailers selling this tile and check their prices every day so you don't have to. Different retailers stock different sizes — we show you whoever has the size you've selected.

Per square metre

The price for one square metre of tile, with VAT included so you can compare like for like. Some retailers list prices without VAT (mostly the trade ones); we add 20% so the numbers match.

Project total

Your room size × the price per m² with VAT included. Note: most tilers allow 10–15% extra for cuts and breakages — particularly important for complex patterns like herringbone. Worth ordering a bit more than your raw room size.

Total delivered

Project total plus the retailer's delivery cost to your postcode. Stone is heavy, so it almost always comes on a pallet. We use real haulier rates by region. At 28 kg/m², 10mm slate fits about 35 m² per pallet (1000 kg max) — bigger orders need additional pallets, which is why delivery scales with size.

How often it's checked

Prices update once a day. If a retailer changes their site and we miss it, we usually catch up within 24 hours. Anything looking weird? Let us know and we'll have a look.
